ABA Therapy Insurance

Insurance Plans We Accept
for ABA Therapy in New Mexico

Elite Steps ABA accepts the following insurance plans for in-home ABA therapy in New Mexico:

Don't see your plan?

Every family begins with a comprehensive assessment conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. This is not a quick intake form. It’s a thorough evaluation that gives us the foundation for everything that follows.

Private pay

We also accept private pay. If you’d prefer to pay out of pocket – or if you want to get started while we work with your insurance – contact us and we’ll walk you through your options.

In some circumstances we can discuss sliding-scale arrangements; reach out and we’ll be honest about what’s available.

ABA Therapy Cost and Out-of-Pocket

Out-of-pocket costs depend on your specific plan: your deductible, copay, and coinsurance, plus whether ABA is in-network or out-of-network for that plan. We don’t quote dollar amounts up front because every plan is different and every family’s deductible status changes throughout the year.

Here’s what we do guarantee: before therapy starts, we will confirm your benefits in writing and walk you through any out-of-pocket cost we can see in advance. You’ll know what you’re agreeing to before any sessions are scheduled.

How Insurance Verification Works

Once you reach out, we handle the insurance side for you. Here's what that looks like:
You share your insurance information with us (plan name, member ID, child’s date of birth).
We verify your benefits and confirm what’s covered.

We walk you through any out-of-pocket costs before therapy begins with no surprises.

If you have questions about coverage, don’t hesitate to ask. We’d rather you call us with an insurance question than put off getting your child the help they need.

Not Sure About Your Coverage?

If you’re not sure whether your plan covers ABA, or if you’re navigating the insurance process for the first time – that’s okay. Many families start here. Contact us with whatever information you have, and we’ll help you figure out the next step.

Insurance FAQs

Does Elite Steps accept New Mexico Medicaid (Turquoise Care)?

Yes. Turquoise Care is one of the five plans we accept, alongside Presbyterian, Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico, Molina, and Aetna.

Most plans require prior authorization for ABA therapy. We submit the prior authorization on your behalf after the assessment. Authorization timelines vary by plan but generally take a few weeks. We’ll keep you informed as it moves through the payer’s system.
Tell us as early as possible. Changes in plan affect prior authorizations, network status, and the speed at which we can resume therapy. If we know in advance, we can usually keep things continuous.
